Haircuts
We kicked off our summer with a well needed hair cut for the boys. They always get a summer buzz and I love it because I don’t have to comb their hair, they just get dressed and go.
After
Palm Desert
We took our Summer Vacation the very first week of June which was a fun way to start the Summer. We booked a getaway week at Shadow Ridge in Palm Desert. It was absolutely perfect because the weather was just at 100 degrees (instead of 120 like it gets in July) and we spent the whole time hanging out in the pool and the kids activity center, The Maze.
Finally my life is so much easier at the pool, after investing in one of these “puddle jumpers”. These are seriously awesome. Libby can swim all over the pool without getting her face in the water. She loves it and it allows me a free hand to play with the other kids while she swims.
The waterslide is always the kids favorite! Libby even got to go down with one of us each time. She loved it! Sawyer was the king of the waterslide!I love the Marriott Vacation Club resorts because they always have such fun activities for the kids. The kids loved playing there. They even had a movie theatre inside where we enjoyed several movies during our week.
We love the beach pool because it has a huge beach entry and the kids love playing in the sand. The kids made an intricate river system in the sand, with boats and all.
We enjoyed lots of yummy dinners out on the town! Our favorite is Mikado at the JW hotel. Libby was terrified of the fire when the chef was cooking right at our table. She held onto my hand the entire time using it to cover her eyes when there was a flame. She would peek out and look every so often.
We even enjoyed lunch on the pool deck one day as well!
What a fun week in Palm Desert! We can’t wait to go again.
Disneyland
In June, we also spent a day at Disneyland with Daddy
Harry Potter
Carter and Maddie both started reading Harry Potter this year. They finished reading it together this month and read the last couple of pages out loud together which was so cute. There began my children’s obsession with Harry Potter.
Sawyer and Carter both made this collection of wands for different characters and displayed it proudly on their wall.
San Antonio Falls
We decided to take a hike one day just up near Mt. Baldy. It was an easy, and pretty hike up to San Antonio Falls. It was fun to have Grampy and Aunt Amanda join us. The kids loved putting their feet in the ice cold water on such a warm day.
Bike Riding
We started out our Summer taking lots of bike rides. It was a fun, and cheap way to get out of the house. We went everywhere on our bikes; doctor appointments, yogurt, lunch, and to the park. Once the weather started getting too hot we had to stop doing as many bike rides in the heat of the day day but we sure enjoyed it while it was cooler.
I love riding bikes with my kids, even if I look a little crazy with 4 kids in tow. I feel like a mommy duck with all her ducklings.
Beach Day
In June we enjoyed a fun beach day with Aunt Amanda before she and Chris headed up to Seattle for Chris to do his Podiatric Externship. It was a beautiful, sunny and clear day.
We ended our day at Balboa Island, enjoying some hippo cookies and chocolate covered bananas.
What a busy month June was! I’m exhausted from writing this post!
