Fourth of July
We had a pretty low key fourth this year. We started out the morning at our Stake Pancake breakfast where Maddie was asked to sing the national anthem for the program.
We went on a bike ride as a family and played at a park in Upland. The kids enjoyed the tire swing!
The kids made this fun Lego creation.
We spent the evening watching fireworks outside the Quakes stadium with Grammy and Grampy, I obviously forgot to take some pictures!
Stella Reese
Wes and Kristy welcomed their third child, and first girl to their family on July 9. It has been fun watching her grow and she always looks like a princess!
Free Slurpees and Free Chick-Fil-A
July has become a month for free food with July 11 being free slurpee day (7-11) and July 13 is the annual cow appreciate day at Chick-fil-A.
The kids enjoyed stopping at multiple 7-eleven stores throughout the day for free slurpees. 7.11 ounces of course!
At Chick-fil-A if you dress like a cow on cow appreciation day you can get a free combo meal. The kids get a kick out of seeing their parents dressed up like cows. Even Grampy got in on the action. (Chris refused to have his picture taken).
I snapped a picture of the register when it showed our total. We got over $49 worth of food for free because we dressed up like cows! The things we do for free food.
Countdown
Since school starts the first week of August here, we started our countdown in July. This year was an important year because Sawyer was starting kindergarten. He was especially excited to start counting down. Here are the kids with their paper chain countdown.
Cousin Fun
One of the parts of Summer our kids most look forward to is when their cousins come into town. Heather and her kids usually come for 3-4 weeks and the kids love spending time with their cousins. We had a fun sleepover with all the boys (6 in all) and my house was quite noisy!
Maddie and Libby enjoyed being with their cousin Kallie as well!
Raspberry picking
We made our annual trip to Riley’s farm for raspberry picking and a picnic under the big trees. The kids love picking raspberries and I love making homemade jam after.
Beach Day
We spent a fun day at Newport Beach with the cousins. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a blast playing in the sand, searching for seashells and digging for sand crabs.
