We took the kids to see WALL-E tonight. For some reason we always end up going to the big releases the first night they open. Probably so we can see them without hearing someone else's opinion first! Well I won't go into any detail about the movie, I'll just tell you that it was great! It is definitely one of the best Pixar films yet! Very different though. We didn't take Sawyer because he just won't sit through anything but Maddie and Carter sat still the whole time and just loved it! GO SEE IT!

WALL-E

SYTYCD
Chris and I have been a huge fans of So You Think You Can Dance for the past 4 seasons. We just love it! This season is so gooooood!
I was very fortunate to get tickets to the taping for this weeks performances (Wednesday's show). I figured the show was not live but I had no idea it gets taped on Monday! That means the dancers only have 3 days to master a new dance and choreography! These dancers are amazing. If you've never watched, now's a great time to start. There are 8 couples still in the competition with one guy and one girl going home each week.
Anyway, I was very excited to get tickets to today's taping (which will air on Wednesday). I took my sister in law, Kelli and her two girls Halli and Hannah (who are also huge fans of the show). Chris was a great sport and stayed home with the kids. I got tickets to Thursday's live results show also so he may go then. We had so much fun! The show is 2 hours long and we stood the entire time! They treat you like cattle and move you here and there for over an hour, then you finally get into the studio and wait another hour standing of course, by the time the show gets started your feet are so tired! It was well worth it though. I was on the right side of the stage sort of behind the dancers 3 rows back. It was hard looking over peoples heads and seeing mostly the back of the dancers, but to be that close was really cool. Some past dancers from the show were in the audience as well, including; Jesus, Dominic, Hok, and Melanie (from season 1).
There were some really good numbers, I'd tell you about them but you'll have to wait until Wednesday to see the show! It's gooood!

Another Trip to San Luis Obispo
This week Chris had to work in San Luis Obispo and since Maddie is out of school now we got to go with him! This time we brought Grammy along and it was nice having her there. Here are some fun pictures that we took. We did a lot of fun things that the kids really enjoyed. Hopefully it was a memorable trip for them.
Carter's favorite thing was the Spider Monkeys, they were fun to watch!

The most exciting animal there was a tiger, which was pretty cool for a really small Zoo.

The water was a little too cold for Sawyer, he had more fun playing on the sand.
Maddie is a little beach bum! She absolutely loves the water. She went pretty far out and I even caught her body surfing!
Carter loved the water too, especially with his toys, he is pretty cautious and doesn't let the water get above his knees.
The kids all loved playing in the sand, especially Sawyer, he could have played for hours!
Surfin' USA!
If you look very closely you can see Hearst Castle at the very top of the hill. It is amazing how far up there it is!
This is the outdoor pool which was just gorgeous, I just wanted to jump in!

All of the ceilings were just beautiful.
This indoor pool was just spectacular. Every inch of the pool and walls is mosaic tile!

Farmers Market
Thursday night is Farmers Market. The kids love to ride the trolley down to the Farmers Market.
Carter and Maddie got their faces painted. Maddie a rabbit and Carter a Skeleton. We thought they looked a little freaky! Carter looked like the bad boys in Karate Kid!

First Jamba Juice
I had no Idea Jamba Juice was started in San Luis Obispo, so when I found out, I had to go to the first store! It was much smaller than any other Jamba Juice but looked similar to the other stores. It was first called Juice Club.

We drove up the coast to San Simeon where Hearst Castle is located. The coast line was breath taking. We took a moment to look out and see it's beauty.

Chris had connections at Hearst Castle because they sell Odwalla at the visitors center. So he was able to get a free tour for my Mom and I while he watched the kids. (He'd already been up there) We rode a bus up a long windy road to get to the top. It was breath taking. Delicious Barbecued corn!Staying in Hotel with 3 kids can be a challenge, but not with I-pods! We had them fall asleep watching our I-pods a couple of times! And since it is so quiet, Sawyer falls asleep very easily! Worked like a charm!

Eight Great Years
Today marks our 8th anniversary! I am so grateful to be married to the greatest man who I love so dearly. He has brought so much love and laughter to my life over the past 8 great years. It sure has gone by so fast, but a lot has happened since that beautiful day when we were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple.

First day of Summer!
Maddie's last day of school was Thursday and I was able to get a cool mystery shop at Holiday Inn just 10 minutes from our home. I have never done a mystery shop in a hotel but I thought it would be fun to do on Maddie's last day of school. We went out to dinner with Mom and Chris and Amanda for Mom's birthday and then we went to our hotel. It was brand new so it was nice. We went swimming with the kids and then just all fell asleep watching TV. The beds were nice and comfy! We slept great and in the morning we had breakfast at our hotel. The coolest part is that there was a little TV at each table. The kids really liked that. It kept them entertained the whole time!
What a fun way to kick of the Summer and best of all it was FREE! Here are some fun pictures...

Catching up...
So I've been a pretty bad blogger lately! We've been pretty busy this month. We've been working on our yard and finally are putting new grass in which we've been wanting to do for a while. It is a big project and takes up all of our Saturdays. It will be worth it when it's done though, I can't wait! Right now we just have a bunch of dirt in our yard so the kids get so dirty all the time. I try to keep them inside as much as I can which is hard. I took "before" pictures but I won't post them until I have the "after" pictures to get the full effect.
Here's what's been going on at our house...
Uncle Chris and Aunt Amanda are staying with Grandma and Grandpa for the Summer so the kids have really enjoyed seeing them. We went to Disneyland last week and had a great time with Chris and Amanda, and Kristy and Brady. It is so nice to have some extra hands around to help with the kids! Here are some pics from Disneyland.
Maddie has been very anxious for school to end and summer to begin. I am excited to not have to get up so early and get her off to school. I am sure I will be ready for her to go back to school come August. Today is actually her last day of school and she has been looking forward to it for a few weeks now. Maddie lost another tooth recently and has been very excited about that too. She is also looking forward to her performance in Beauty and the Beast at Los Osos high school in July. She is in the youth ensemble and will play a sugar cube in the "be our guest" scene.
Carter finished preschool the beginning of the month and had a fun end of year party at "Jumping Jacks". He loved his first year of preschool and is really looking forward to next year. One of the things I love about our city is we have an excellent preschool program run by the parks and recreation. Best of all it is very inexpensive compared to most preschools. He loved his teacher and made lots of friends.
Sawyer is growing up so fast! He is starting to talk so much! He is probably our most expressive child. You can always tell what kind of mood he is in by the look on his face. It is almost comical sometimes! He is great at throwing tantrums, my favorite is when he doesn't get his way he looks for a door to slam. He runs down the hall to his room and stands in the doorway waiting for me, he looks at me with the maddest face ever and then slams the door. I think he has definitely picked this up from Maddie. He is even more dramatic than she was at that age which scares me!
