Jog-a-thon
The kids had a jog-a-thon at their school this year and had a blast.  They gave each grade 20 minutes to see how many laps they could run. Chris and I went and watched each of the kids as they ran.  Maddie ran first and did an amazing job.  She worked so hard and ran 18 laps.  She did not stop running the entire time.  We were so proud of her!

Sawyer was up next our little kindergartner.  He was a determined little guy and just ran his little heart out on that field.  He ran 20 laps in his allotted 20 minutes, which worked out to be 2.3 miles.  He ran more than any other Kindergartner in the entire school!

Carter, our little cross country runner, also did great at the Jog-a-thon.  He was anxious to show his stuff on that field.  He ran 22 laps in 20 minutes. (3 miles!)  He also got first place for running the most laps for the entire 3rd grade.

We were both so proud of our kids for running their hearts out.  It makes us so happy that our kids love running as much as we do!  It has become something we love to do as a family.

Carter’s 9th Birthday
Carter’s Birthday fell on Conference weekend this year on Sunday.  We spent all weekend celebrating it!  On Friday I took Donuts to his school to hand out to all of his friends.  His teacher Ms. Herbster had the kids sing Happy Birthday to him.

On Saturday we went to play Laser Tag with Wes and Kristy and Chris and Amanda for Carter’s Birthday.

We came back to our house after to have Pizza and open his presents.  The men went to the Priesthood session while the kids all played and when they came back we had a yummy Dairy Queen Blizzard cake.

On Sunday morning I made breakfast for Carter.  French toast, bacon, eggs and Odwalla for the special day!

Later that evening he got his favorite dinner.  Steak and mashed potatoes graced the red plate on his big day.  Carter was very lucky he got to have the red plate twice in one day!

Disneyland with Aunt Amanda
I had a mystery shop at Disneyland and we were so lucky that Aunt Amanda got to tag along with Libby and I!  We had so much fun visiting and Libby got lots of attention.  I must have been talking a lot because I only got these two pictures of our fun day.

Spring Sickness
We had our bout with sickness in April.  I think at one point or another we were all sick.  From Sore Throat to Stomach Flu we had it all!  Poor kids…

Disneyland with Sawyer and Libby
Since Sawyer gets out of school at noon, I have to arrange for someone to pick him up on the days I go to Disneyland for my mystery shops.  I’m always home by 3 in time to get the big kids.  Occasionally I’m not able to get Grammy to pick him up or anyone else for that matter and he gets to come with us.  He likes it and since he’s in Kindergarten I figure it doesn’t hurt right?  Here are some pictures of our day.

The kids love to go to Tom Sawyer’s Island and we don’t go their nearly enough.  Such a fun place to get away from the busy park.

Mud Run
My friend Kira had this crazy idea to do a mud run.  It was a groupon so it was pretty cheap so I went ahead and signed up. Because they sold so many groupons our heat was not until 2 o’clock and it was hot as blazes!  We had a blast and got very dirty.  I’m not really big on the obstacles so I’m not sure I’d do it again.  I kept worrying the entire time I was going to injure my knee or ankle on those steep hills we had to run down or large tires we had to jump off of.  The best part was that everyone was there to have fun and the event was very noncompetitive.  There were some points were we were up to our chest in warm gooey mud!  This picture was taken before the event and the one after is our shoes.  We didn’t get a lot of pictures because we kept the phones in the car for obvious reasons!  I threw away all my clothes and shoes that I wore after the race.
