We were so lucky to have cousins come to visit this Summer! Jeff and Janelle came to visit at the end of July and we had so much fun being with them. The day after they arrived we went to the Natural History Museum and visited the new Dinosaur exhibit. The kids really liked it.
There were 10 kids in all and only 5 adults so it was a little chaotic chasing them around a busy museum. They really just loved each others company even more than the cool exhibits.
I tried out the Monkey backpack harness on Libby and she liked it until she realized that it was meant to restrict her from getting away.
She loved all the attention from her cousins. Lily and Brooklyn were so cute with her. Brooklyn was a good little babysitter for me!
I had to get a picture of Sawyer with my favorite animal. He looks so cute and cuddly!
What an eventful day that was at the Museum of Natural History. The kids had fun and the adults went home exhausted!
The next day we went to Newport beach. We hadn’t been to Newport yet this Summer so it was exciting to get to go to the beach. I still haven’t quite figured out if my kids are beach kids. Carter insisted on wearing regular clothes. He thought he would get less sandy if he didn’t have swim trunks on. Maddie usually complains about being all sandy while were there but at the end of the day the kids don’t want to go home and they love it. I packed Carters swim trunks and within 20 minutes of arriving he was asking to change into them.
It was such a fun relaxing day just to hang out at the beach. The kids had so much fun playing in the waves, building sand castles and digging for sand crabs.
Ava was an angel and stayed sand free the entire time. Libby kept her company so she wouldn’t get bored!
Unfortunately Libby got very sandy and managed to eat some as well. She loves the beach and the sand. She even started enjoying the water, once she got over her initial fear.
Maddie had fun digging for sand crabs.
I love this picture of Coleman and Libby. He is so sweet to her.
Lily loves Libby, she was so adorable with her. I just loved watching all the big cousins with Libby, just precious.
We spent all day at the beach and ate dinner at our favorite: Café Rio. It was a great day!
The next day was Saturday and we were lucky to have the cousins join us for Carter’s basketball game.
The kids all went to Chuck E. Cheese after the game and then to Maddie’s matinee show. It was a special treat for Maddie to get to have her cousins see her show.
On Monday Kristy invited us to her good friend’s home to swim. They have a beautiful pool and my kids just love going there. Here are some fun pictures of our day at the pool.
Lilly is such a doll!
She was so cute relaxing in her little inner tube. I think she may have even fallen asleep!
Libby enjoyed the beach entry to the pool, lots of room for her to play!
The kids all love to jump off the cliff and go down the slide.
We had such a fun week with the cousins here. We miss them so much and we lived closer. My kids had been pretty bored all Summer so it was a very nice treat to have Jeff and Janelle’s family come visit. We can’t wait to see them again!
