Independence Day 2013

This year our stake held its first Faith and Freedom 5K for the fourth of July.  We hope it becomes an annual tradition as it was a very fun way to start the day. The race started at 7 am and we were so excited to have Heather and Cisco’s family do it with us.  The kids were all so excited since it was the first time they actually got to race with a real bib.  Heather and Carter were the fastest and ran about an 8 min pace.  Davis was right behind them.  Collin and Sawyer stayed together the entire time and were not far behind them.  Chris and I ran with Cisco (who pushed Libby in the stroller) and Kallie and Maddie. The kids did an amazing job and ran the entire time.  I love running with my kids!

After the run the Stake hosted a pancake breakfast and had a patriotic program.  It was a great start to our day!  Later that afternoon we went to a movie with Grandma Faye and Uncle David.  I didn’t take any pictures but we saw Despicable Me 2 and the kids loved it!  Thank you Uncle David!
Later that evening we drove down to Corona to Wes and Kristy’s.  Their city does a really nice fireworks show just a few blocks from their house at a huge park.  We had a great time laying in the grass, playing catch and enjoying the warm summer evening before the fireworks began.  Here are some fun pictures I took.

Since Kallie’s birthday falls on July 8th, we sang happy birthday and she opened some gifts.
