Chris and Sawyer watching our Chef do some tricks!
The little boat ride back to the inside of the Hotel
(notice the chopsticks in Maddie's hair from dinner)
One night we ate dinner at a fun restaurant called Mikado, which is part of the big Marriott Desert Springs hotel and it was very nice. It is a Japanese style restaurant where they cook in front of you so it kept the kids attention very well. After dinner we got to ride the boat back to the inside of the hotel which the kids love. (If you ever watched Saved by the Bell this is the hotel the kids go to when Jessie's Dad gets married in Palm Springs and Screech takes off in the boat with Lisa)
We were especially excited because while we were there, Mom and Dad bought a week with the Marriott Vacation Club! So they will finally be able to travel! They have reserved 2 units in the Newport Coast Villas for our whole family to have a reunion in August! We are all so thrilled to be able to spend a week at the beach!
We got home on Saturday and we are ready for life to get back to normal. Maddie and Carter go back to school today and my life will have some structure to it. This Christmas Break was so busy and we did so much it is hard to believe we crammed it all into 2 weeks! Maddie was so excited to go back to school today, she missed her teacher and her friends. I hope that lasts!

Sounds like SO much fun! Can't wait to come in August!
Katie,
It's your cousin Spencer- great to see you are all doing so well! The kids are really growing up fast. We're doing well up here in Oregon, school is tough but I'm getting through it. We had a great New Years in London, and it's definitely tough to be back in reality :) I'll let you know if we get down to California anytime soon, Rosie wants to go to San Diego, so we'll definitely visit if we get down there. We don't have a blog, but we are on facebook...
Very Best,
Spencer
Katie,
This is Andrea, by the way. When I first read the caption under the picture of you on the boat ride back to your hotel in Palm Desert, I thought, "That looks like the same thing from that episode of Saved by the Bell. I wonder if it is." And thankfully, you answered my question! It's so funny the things we remember.
Hiya Katie--
This is your cousin Rob Wilson. Sounds like you guys had a very nice vacation!
We kept ours pretty low-key; we stayed home and had a very nice low-stress Christmas.
You asked if any of us have blogs--here's mine:
The Dragon's Cave
sorry it took me a bit to get back to you, starting the new semester has kept us busy. but as for the blog backgrounds..its a little tricky but here are the directions my friends gave me.
"As for making the template. All you do is save the paper as a PDF or JPEG, then upload it using www.imageshack.us then "host it" and it gives you a bunch of url sites. Use the one at the bottom that says "direct link". change your template to the minima template. then go into the edit HTML part of the edit blog page and under the body section for the first line put "background: url(direct url that you were given);" without the quotes, but put everything else inside the quotes.
if you dont understand them let me know and i can talk you though it more.
tell everyone hi for me
