Fun with my SLR
These pictures were literally from my first time getting out with my camera. I still wasn’t sure how to adjust certain settings but I was pleased with how pretty they came out. I took the kids to the mall this day just for the sole purpose of taking pictures. I’m finding more and more reasons for breaking out my camera, and I love it! Not so sure my kids do though!
Disneyland with Sawyer and Libby
I had a mystery shop one day and didn’t have anyone to pick up Sawyer from school at noon so lucky boy got to come with us! It was a short trip but I got some fun pictures and we had a great time. Another fun place to take pictures!
Enjoying their Dole Ice Cream treats!
Sawyer attempting to pull the sword from the stone.
We took the rafts over to Tom Sawyer’s Island which is one of Sawyer’s favorites. The kids loved climbing the tree house and running across the bridges. It was a nice and sunny day, doesn’t get much better than that!
I love this picture of the two of them! It is one of my favorites.
Winter Basketball
Carter and Sawyer both played basketball this season. Sawyer hadn’t played for over a year and was in a new division which was more exciting for him. He had a great time and got very aggressive. He had Carter’s old coach and he was just fabulous with him. Carter even got to help coach the boys since he had moved up to an older division.
Carter was also playing in a higher division this season. He had a very good coach who was very good with the boys and really pushed them to do their best. Carter improved a lot and had some great games. We were proud of him!
Grammy and Grampy loved coming to the boys games to cheer them on and took the kids to get yogurt one Saturday after a game.
Sawyer had a fun Pizza party at the end of his season at Laser Island. The boys all painted their faces with glow in the dark paint and had a blast!
Sawyer with Coach Al. He really did a good job coaching Carter and now Sawyer.
Carter’s team continued on to the playoffs and did very well. After their season ended they had a pizza party at Shakey’s. He really got to know his teammates really well.
Carter with Ty, who was the star of the team. They had a blast playing together and Carter learned a lot from playing with him.
Valentines Day
We had a great Valentines day this year. The kids had a great time at their school parties handing out Valentines and getting lots of candy.
Maddie had planned to do a “Heart Attack” to Grammy and Grampy for Valentines day. She did it all on her own and made all the hearts the night before. She wrote sweet things on them and even had her Dad take her to Target to buy some treats for them! After school we went over there and surprised Grammy with a heart attack.
Every since Chris and I started dating back when we were 16, I always have made Rice Krispy hearts for Valentines day. I know it’s a simple and not very extravagant treat but it is our tradition. I’m big on traditions! He looked forward to them every year and the kids do too!
Instead of spending Valentines day out with all the crowds I made a lovely dinner at home for us to all enjoy as a family. I made Chestnut Chicken and our favorite rice. Chris was in heaven! I even made chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. The kids enjoyed the candle lit dinner and Martinelli’s.
That weekend Chris and I celebrated with a romantic dinner out at Flemings. Best Filet Mignon ever! I could eat there every night, except I’d be broke!
