Maddie had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem for Mormon night at our local minor league baseball stadium on August 27. Having a grandma with connections helps. Grandma is on the Church Media Relations board for our stake and helped make arrangements for the quakes game. She highly recommended Maddie and all she had to do was go down and sing for them and she was all set.
When the big day arrived, I was nervous for her but she was just so excited. It was extremely HOT that day but luckily it was cool by the time the game started. There were lots of our friends from our ward there and Wes and Kristy and also Grandma Faye, Kelli and her kids. Of course Grandma and Grandpa were there too!
Here is Maddie on the field waiting to sing.
With the team Mascot.
And singing her heart out….
Here is the video of her singing….
After she sang we went up to the stands to sit with our family and ward. Everyone cheered when they saw her and she felt so good. We were so proud of her and are simply amazed at her ability to sing and not even get nervous!
After the game as we walked out Libby kept saying “Good Job Maddie”. That night after we put them to bed Maddie came out of their room and said, “Mom, I can’t go to sleep, Libby won’t stop saying “Good Job, Maddie”. So Adorable!
