Primary

So a few weeks ago the entire bishopric comes to my house and wants to visit. I was a little nervous from the get go. Then when the bishop said, "We'd like to call you to be the primary president", my heart hit the floor or maybe it was my stomach! So for the last 3 weeks I have been thinking, breathing and eating primary and my family is getting tired of it. Chris is so sick of me being on the phone all the time! First I had to call all the primary presidents I have ever known and get tons of advice. (I had never served in primary with the exception of a couple months as chorister when I was home from college one summer) Then I spent a couple hours on the phone with the past Primary president getting to know the routine and the different needs of the kids and teachers, then when each of my counselors and secretary accepted their call they called and we talked for a while. After letting it sink in Sunday was the big day when we were all sustained. It was a very special day. I got to sit in Primary and watch so I could learn how they are currently doing things. After church our bishopric set us apart. One of my counselors, Anjanette, seriously never misses a photo op so she pulled out her camera and took this picture. I seriously have the best ladies to work with. They truly are the cream of the crop! I am so blessed to be able to work with them and learn from them. Wish me luck and I am totally open for any advice anyone has....

Katie! I was so excited to hear from you! I'm so excited to check out your blog and see how you and Chris and your kids are doing. So fun to see pics of you and your kids- I'm sure you are such a great mom! You'll be an awesome primary pres. Carrie seems interested in doing one...I'm hoping to get up to CO sometime soon and maybe I can help her start one then. :) Jen
